Casey Anthony Trial - Wife Of Serial Killer Assisting

Trial Defense Team Includes Wife Of Serial Killer

In what seems truth stranger than fiction, Casey Anthony, accused killer of her two year old daughter, is being assisted at trial by the wife of a serial killer.

This week Rosalie Bolin. a trial mitigation expert, joined Anthony's defense team, led by controversial attorney Jose Baez.

Bolin is married to 49-year old Oscar Ray Bolin, Jr., a current resident of Florida's Union Correctional Institution in Starke, Florida, serving three sentences for murder, one life sentence and two death sentences.

Rosalie Bolin gave up her prominent Tampa area attorney husband to wed Oscar Bolin in 1996 in a secret ceremony over the telephone while Bolin was in jail. She was attempting to overturn his murder conviction while working for the Hillsborough County Public Defender's office as a trial mitigation expert. She lost that job after allegedly spending too much time with Bolin.

Bolin's job will be, if Anthony is convicted of murder, to find what experiences in Anthony's life might be shown as mitigating circumstances to argue before the court in avoiding a death sentence. Mitigating circumstances might include age, mental abilities, family life, history of abuse and other circumstances as allowed by the court.

Bolin's husband, Oscar Bolin had appealed his murder sentences and was finally sentenced to death in 2001 and again in 2007 for 1st degree murder. In 2005 he received a life sentence for 2nd degree murder. All three murders were from 1986.

He was also convicted in a 1987 kidnapping at gunpoint of a women in Ohio, then driving her to Florida, receiving a 15 year sentence.
