Hendry Operation Medicine Cabinet Locations

Health Department Offering Drop Off Locations For Prescription Meds

LABELLE, FL. -- Add to your Spring Cleaning by emptying your medicine cabinet of expired, unused or unwanted prescriptions and over the counter drugs, says the Hendry-Glades Health Department. Bring those to the local Operation Medicine Cabinet™ drop off locations on Saturday, March 31, 2011 in LaBelle, Clewiston, Harlem, Pioneer and Montura.

Because medications should not be flushed down the toilet or thrown in the garbage, and because they pose a risk to children in the home, Drug Free Hendry County and the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office have partnered with local pharmacies to offer this community program for the fourth time in Hendry County.

Pharmacy owners will be providing hamburgers and hot-dogs to those who come by. Last year we collected more than 100 lbs of medication! This will be our only prescription take-back event for the year.

Medication drops offs will be welcomed during Operation Medicine Cabinet between 10 am and 1 pm on Saturday, March 31 at the following locations: J&J Pharmacy, 149 West Hickpochee Ave, (Hwy 80, Near Burger King), K & M Pharmacy, 340 W. Sugarland Hwy. (Near U-Save and First Bank on Hwy 27), 10:00-11:00 AM, Harlem Civic Center, 7th street, 11:30 AM-12:30 PM Montura/Flaghole Volunteer Fire Dept., 465 Del Sur Avenue, 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Pioneer Plantation Volunteer Fire Department
