Invitation From Glades Public Library

MOORE HAVEN, FL. -- Glades County Friends of the Library is once again open for new members. The Friends of the Library is an organization that meet only four times a year to plan the various events sponsored by the library. The library sponsors such events as Art in the Park, story hour on Tuesday mornings for the pre-school children and many other activities including free computer classes for beginners, Kindle classes and the library book sale.

The next meeting of the Friends of the Library will be on May 7, at 3:30 p.m. in the conference room of the library.
In addition to the regular business meeting, there is always a presentation of interest for the members with refreshments as well. The Friends of the Library also maintains the historical section of the library.

Dues are only $5 for the whole year. Come and join us and be sure to bring some of those good ideas with you. Interested parties should contact Mary Booher at the library or call her at 863-946-0744.

For those of you who are internet connected with your cell phones, I-Pads and tablets, etc., check out the web page for the Heartland Library Cooperative. Click on "Polaris Pac APP". It's an app for all smartphones and tablets, allowing users to search the catalog, view their account, renew items, place holds, check library hours, access databases and access downloadable e-Book and audiobook services.

When patrons access Polaris, their smartphone or tablet will automatically recognize they are using a smart phone and will allow them to switch to the mobile view.
