Clewiston's LeRoy Hare Dies At 90

Long Time Clewiston Businessman Dies

CLEWISTON, FL. -- LeRoy Hare, age 90, of Clewiston, passed away after an extended illness on October 24, 2012 in Clewiston. He was born Nov. 17, 1921 in Kingstree, SC, to the late R.M. Hare Sr. and the late Maude (Steed) Hare.

Mr. Hare married Sandra Erlene Peacock. He served during World War II in the Army Air Corps from 12/04/1942 to 10/19/1945 flying thirty missions over Germany including D-Day over Normandy.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years: Sandra Peacock Hare, Children: LeRoy (Angelica) Hare Jr. of Clewiston, Jennifer (Timothy) Potter Hoban of Mt. Dora and John M. (Christy) Potter of West Palm Beach, grandchildren: LeLani Sandra Hare of Clewiston, Christian Potter of West Palm Beach, Justin Potter of West Palm Beach, Matthew Hoban of Mt. Dora and Andrew Hoban of Mt. Dora.

Mr. Hare was president of Hare Lumber And Ready Mix, Inc., Okeechobee Landings RV Resort, Inc. and
partner in Easy Life Subdivision. He was also a co-owner of Twin Lakes Subdivision, Inc. in the 1980s.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 27, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at Akin-Davis Funeral Home in Clewiston with Rev. Samuel Thomas Ph.D. officiating. Entombment will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Clewiston. Visitation will be held for 30 minutes prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.

After the services, a reception will follow for family and friends at St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Clewiston. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Cir, Ft.
