John Rambarran Dies In Motorcycle Crash

LABELLE, FL. -- Motorcyclist John Rambarran is dead after a crash into an automobile Thursday afternoon in LaBelle, Fl.

Adrian Rivera, 17 of  LaBelle, Florida was traveling west on the single westbound lane of County Road 80A (West Cowboy Way), in LaBelle, Florida about 5:30 p.m. Thursday. As he approached the intersection of Lillian Street, his 2009 Ford Fusion steered left and was brought to a controlled stop within the center turn lane.

Rivera reportedly paused for a few moments then accelerated through a left turn, violating the right-of-way of John Mark Rambarran, 26 of LaBelle, Florida on a 2001 Honda CBR900 motorcycle , which had been traveling east in the single eastbound lane of County Road 80A.

Rambarran braked but had insufficient distance to stop. The front center portion of of the motorcycle collided into the right front fender of the Ford. Rambarran was propelled into the right side of the Ford then fell to the roadway, coming to final rest within the intersection.

Rivera brought the Ford to a controlled stop on the west edge of Lillian Street, south of the intersection. Neither he nor passenger Peter Herdsman, 17 of LaBelle were injured.

Charges are pending investigation said the FHP.

The Florida Highway Patrol requests that witnesses or anybody having information regarding this crash contact either Corporal Jeff Rongish at 239-344-1730 or CRIME-STOPPERS to remain anonymous.

Rambarran worked in LaBelle at his father's tire store on Bridge Street. Hundreds of people have left memorials in front of the store which will be closed temporarily.
