Roger Bille Dies In Crash

CLEWISTON, FL. -- Roger J. Billie, 59 of Clewiston is dead after a crash Thursday night at 7:01 p.m. in Collier County. An unidentified 32-year old femaie also died in the crash.

John F. Robbins, 39 of Clewiston was driving a 2006 Ford 250 traveling westbound in the westbound lane of CR-846 west of CR-858. For unknown reasons he lost lost control of the truck which veered onto the eastbound lane. Robbins over-corrected the steering causing the vehicle to yaw in a northwest direction, then traveled across the westbound lane and onto the north grass shoulder of CR-846.

The left side collided with the embankment on the shoulder and vaulted in a northwest direction and overturn into the wooded area on the shoulder coming to final rest facing north on the shoulder with it left side against the trees.

Billie and a second occupant were ejected when it overturned. Both were pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of the crash. Robbins suffered critical injuries and was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital.

The crash is under investigation by the FHP.
