What's New At LaBelle Kiwanis

LABELLE, FL. -- Margaret England was the guest speaker at a recent Kiwanis meeting. She was excited to present information about a Kiwanis Club of LaBelle sponsored program called Kiwanis "Bring Up Grades" (BUG)

Bring up Grades, or BUG is a program designed to provide recognition to elementary grade students who raise their grades into an acceptable range and maintain or continue to raise them form one grading period to the next. Recognition includes being placed on the school's Bug Honor Roll, a pizza, ice cream or other food-themed party; and presentation of certificates, pins and other giveaways.

The Kiwanis Club of LaBelle is currently sponsoring the Kiwanis BUG program at LaBelle Elementary School, Upthegrove School and West Glades School. They will soon be adding Country Oaks School.

A presentation was recently held at LaBelle Elementary School on April 8th. The LaBelle Elementary BUG recipients were presented their certificates, pencils, buttons and stickers in each individual class. 33 students received awards.

On Tuesday, April 12th the Kiwanis BUG awards will be presented to Upthegrove Elementary School at 11 a.m. There will be 86 students receiving awards.
