Glenn Taylor Dies At 79

Glenn N. Taylor, Sr., age 79, of Moore Haven, went to be with the Lord, August 30, 2017 peacefully. He was born June 2, 1938 in Citrus Center, FL, to the late Herbert Cleo and the late Patricia Ruth (Barfield) Taylor.
He is survived by two sons: G. Norman Taylor, Jr. (Mollie) and Erik Stephen Taylor (Veleda), and one daughter: Kristi Hingson (Wade), sister: Audrey Whidden, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Juanita McDuffie Taylor, his daughter, Kayleen Massa and brother, Neil Taylor.
Glenn was a resident of Moore Haven most of his life. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Moore Haven, the BPOE Fraternal Order of the Elks #1853 in Clewiston, a member of the Moore Haven Eagles Club, and served two terms (8 years) on the Glades County School Board, where he served as chairman for most of those years. 
Glenn was very proud of his many years as a cane farmer around Glades and Hendry County, but if asked he would say his greatest achievement were his children, grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren. He was proud to be born and raised in Glades County, where he graduated from Moore Haven High School in the mighty class of 1956.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church of Moore Haven, with Pastor Charley Watts officiating. Visitation was Tuesday one hour prior to service at First United Methodist Church of Moore Haven. Interment Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in Ortona Cemetery, Moore Haven.
